Alanna studied Latin American Studies and Creative Writing at UC San Diego. She interned at the Margret McBride Agency, Writers House, Russell & Volkening, and Sanford J. Greenburger Associates before she began scouting in 2009 at Mary Anne Thompson Associates. She founded Alanna Feldman Scouting in Los Angeles in 2017.

She is particularly drawn to fiction with a distinctive voice and non-fiction that offers fresh perspectives. Her favorite books are those that expand both the mind and heart.
